Who we are
Founded in 1956 by Doris Eddy, The Eddy Farm School for Horse and Rider is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to cultivating harmony between horse and rider. Doris believed that true horsemanship goes beyond skill—it’s a relationship built on understanding, respect, and communication.
Today, the school continues her vision by teaching the principles of classical riding, horse care, and herd dynamics, helping students learn not only how to ride, but how to listen. Our programs welcome people from all walks of life to experience the transformative bond between horse and human. Guided by a devoted Board of Directors and a team of skilled instructors, The Eddy Farm School remains a cornerstone of Vermont’s equestrian community—preserving Doris’s legacy while inspiring new generations to carry it forward.
